Police Officer Civil Service Entrance Exam Schedule

To reserve a seat for an upcoming exam, applicants must submit an application online by 4:00 p.m. on or before the deadline to apply date. To apply go to:

Candidates must pass the minimum qualifications and supplemental questions on the online application to become eligible to submit required documents within the deadline date. Required Documents include a copy of Driver’s License and military DD214 member 4 (if applicable). Please mail or bring copies of the documents to:

City of Mesquite, Attn: Human Resources, 1515 N. Galloway Avenue, Mesquite, Texas 75149

It is the responsibility of the applicant to call the HR Department at 972-216-6322 to confirm required documents have been received and to verify eligibility to test.

Exam Information

  • Check-in begins 30 minutes before exam time- Please have your Driver License ready
  • DO NOT bring cell phones and electronic devices to the exam room
  • No entry will be allowed after the doors close
  • You will have 2 ½ hours to take the exam
  • The physical agility course will take place the day after the written exam. The location will be announced to those that pass the written exam.
  • Please come dressed accordingly

If you pass the written exam and physical agility, Mesquite Police Department will require OFFICIAL college transcripts in a sealed envelope from the college or university during the background process. Please do not bring your transcripts to the exam.
